Referee coaching software

Coaches log the match on a phone, one thumb, eyes on the pitch. At full time the log is already an After Action Report in your association's format, ready to adjust and publish before they leave the ground.

Log it live without looking down

The live console is built for the touchline: one thumb, a glance, and the phone in your hand in the rain. Each entry is stamped to the match clock, tagged to the official it's about and rated on the spot. Incident types are preset for the competition and panel level, so a coach at a youth fixture and a coach at a national league match each see the options that fit.

The dual timer keeps the match minute and stoppage time apart, locked to the grade's rules. When the ground has no signal, logging carries on offline and syncs when the connection comes back.

At the Kanga Cup 2026 in Canberra, run with Capital Football, coaches logged more than 55 matches live through the app across seven venues, with every log syncing to a central operations dashboard.

Referee assessment reports, drafted at full time

There is no Sunday night transcription. The live log becomes an After Action Report with suggested ratings, in your competition's own format. The coach reviews it, changes what needs changing and publishes before leaving the ground, so the official reads the feedback while the match is still fresh.

Associations build their own report formats and coaching log inputs in the interactive builder: the criteria, rating scales and tiles their coaches actually use. Technical coaches can approve reports before release, and officials can reply to their own report on the record.

Technical committee reviews and season trends

Big calls get a second look. Appointments can be submitted for technical committee review, and review panels assess key match incidents and deliver their findings to the official. When the match is streamed through Stream Hub, every logged incident is already a marker on the footage, so the panel watches the moment instead of reading about it.

Over a season each official builds a development history: trend lines per referee, and association wide analytics by law and consistency. Master View ranks the panel on current form and flags who is promotion ready, on track or in need of coaching, which is what the appointer needs when the next round goes out through referee management software on the same record.

Common questions

Does it work without mobile signal at the ground?

Yes. The live console keeps logging offline and syncs every entry when the phone is back on signal, so a dead spot at the ground doesn't cost a match.

Can we use our own assessment criteria?

Yes. Associations build their own report formats and coaching log inputs, including criteria, rating scales and tiles, in the report format builder. Different competitions and panel levels can use different formats.

How quickly does the official get the report?

Usually the same day. The report is drafted at full time from the live log, and the coach can publish it before leaving the ground. If your association wants technical coach approval first, it is held until it's approved.

Do coaches need to install an app?

No app store is involved. RefWhistle runs in the browser and installs to the home screen on iPhone and Android, and it keeps itself up to date.

Can officials see the footage behind a rating?

When the match is streamed or uploaded to Stream Hub, each logged incident is a marker on the footage, and coaches can clip it in two taps and share it with permissioned, expiring access.
